You Are The Light of This World

John 3:16-17 (NIV) quotes “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

Luke 19:10 (NIV) explains Jesus’ mission on earth being “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Matthew 5:14-16 (NIV) says that “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

John 8:12 (NIV) – “When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.””

I needed to take some time and think about the question: “Who is the LIGHT of this world?” Ultimately, as mentioned in John 8:12, Jesus spoke that “He is the light of this world”, which is true. He is the Son of God, a lineage relationship that can never be broken away from our Father (God) in Heaven.

Question: “But if that is true, then how can I, a human being living on the plains of this earth, be a light?”

Inside of each of us is a spirit, a spirit full of energy and light that urges to break out and share God’s Words and urges to connect with everyone and anyone that needs to be helped. Your own spirit is a light onto this world that truly needs to be shared. How? Do what you love to do. Example: If you are an instrumentalist and loves to play music, use your blessings to, not only play for your friends and the community, but play it for God. The Head Man that is always blessing us with gifts that we don’t even deserve to have. Whatever your skill or talent may be, think of Him at the forefront of your mind, because (to be honest) we will not be here today without Him.

Yes, Jesus is the Light of our lives, but at the same time, it felt as if He has passed the baton to all of us. He wants us to love one another, help one another, and to even pass our knowledge and our words down for generations. I love to write my poetry and inspiring messages so that I can at least encourage a soul and help someone who may need it most. This… is my spiritual gift that I love to do and share.

We all are lights in this world in our own way and can inspire to save a soul from being immune to darkness and believing that their lives aren’t worth living. The truth is that it is and we can do something about helping them to replace their broken light bulbs. 🙂
