In Proverbs 20:22 (NIV), it quotes “Do not say, “I’ll pay you back for this wrong!” Wait for the Lord and he will avenge you.” Similarly, in 1 Thessalonians 5:15, it mentions the same lessons to keep in mind to “Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else.”
Too often, and too much, we would either see or hear someone bringing up or speaking about some kind of idea of ‘Retaliation’, but not in a positive way as it should be. No, I cannot imagine the pain and hurt that you currently feel or had felt in regards for losing a loved one due to an action that could’ve been avoided; I have no idea of your experiences. However, I still stand and agree with the Lord on this subject: I will wait on the Lord because He is my avenger (Prov. 20:22).
It’s true that situations happen that can be too painful to bear, especially when losing a loved one, but at the same time, God has never abandoned us, despite how long Satan has been trying to gain the power the Lord has over us; the lost sheep. It pains me hearing about how many believe that a physical weapon is stronger than the Word of God or Prayer, which in truth, it isn’t and never can be.
A gun for a gun isn’t right. The Word of God is. Threatening and seeking retaliation against one another isn’t right. Believing in the Lord and His Word is. Hearing the news about how children are playing, firing, and harming someone or themselves with a loaded gun DOES NOT SOUND AT ALL RIGHT. Praying with our children and raising them to live and be the best that they can be is. To, at least, be given the chance to witness your child walk across a graduation stage or be promoted up a grade in school or even learning how to count is a miracle and more amazing and precious than discovering devastation to be in their future.
If we are adults, lower guns quicker than firing them at one another; at least make the sacrifice for the Lord Himself. It’ll be worth it in the end.
I cannot believe my eyes;
You have brought so much happiness that has changed my life.
Daily I read and cannot wait until I can work for you again.
You've taught me how to follow You, to listen, and to understand.
I cannot believe how you fixed and repaired my broken heart.
You made it happen. How? Where should I start?
Just to wake up and breathe is a blessing which means so much.
Every day I wake, I yearn to feel your touch.
My nightmares are nothing but like a shadow on the wall.
Your Words comforted me so much to show me that the images are small.
Thank You, Jesus, for Your massive love and support.
Thank You, Jesus, for offering peace whenever I feel pain or hurt.
THANK YOU!! :)
In the Book of Revelation 3:11 (NIV), the Lord said “I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.” Later, in the Book of Revelation, the Judgment of Satan has been revealed to us in Revelation 20:7-10 (NIV) as quoted “When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth – Gog and Magog (names in reference to the men and women of the devilish in heart) – and to gather them for battle. In number, they are like the sand on the seashore. They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night, for ever and ever.”
It is time for us to get back at the enemy and do the opposite of all the evil things he expects us to do. For example, the devil will find you in your most vulnerable and weakest state of mind where he tries to convince you to do something rule breaking and heart breaking to God. I know that no one can escape the evil influences the devil attempts to use as persuasion within all of us, but recall one thing: The Lord can make a way out of no way AND there is always a way to escape the enemy’s clutches.
This is a secret the enemy doesn’t want you to understand and know. He desires to negatively influence you to follow his way and deceitful plans, which, in the end, leads to nothing but destruction if he is the one to be followed.
Tell the Devil to back off and remember where he is heading: “To the lake of burning sulfur… ” and to begone with bringing up your past pains within your life, because guess what? We can never return to our past, but we can only make our futures bigger, better, and brighter than those years before. Any pain I may have and experience in life is only temporary… but Jesus Christ’s Word will be forever… and HE IS LIFE AND LIGHT!
In the Book of Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV), it quotes “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
Regardless of how your work environment may be, where you may have your ups and downs kind of experiences, keep in mind that you are performing services for the Lord. Perhaps what you are doing doesn’t coincide with what you may believe could be a form of “servicing” Him. The truth is that you are. As long as you are “working at it with all your heart”, you are doing service for Him. For example: I may earn a paycheck or work at a business of any kind, but I do like to write inspirational poetry to help uplift others.
I just learned something new in my spirit: That is a service to the Lord. I am happy and proud of that, and for those of you that may have hard days and times at your current job, think about the Lord, calm yourself, and keep in mind that you are servicing Him and Him only; not the human being that you see before you. Even if you may be self-employed or unemployed, I’m pretty sure you are servicing the Lord as well. How? If you care for any children, or even when you decide to push yourself to complete or do a presentation in front of others, you can count that as doing a form of service for the Lord. Just think of Him first, do a silent pray (if you need to stay calm), and always remember that He is watching over you.
I intended to include a scripture on my post, but I’d rather use this brief moment and time to thank all of the mothers, whether on Earth or no longer here, for what you have done and sacrificed for your children.
The Lord has directed me to locate one scripture to share: Job 31:15 (NIV). It reads “Did not he who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same one form us both within our mothers?” This is so true. Regardless of where and whom they all are, they made a sacrifice alone to bore us and help to give us the present life that we have on earth, whether we are still close to them or have grown apart from them. One fact still remains that they made a sacrifice to still bore us while God was molding us inside of our mothers’ stomachs. There’s a reason why, if you have a twin or a sister or brother with the same parents, that you do not look EXACTLY like one another. Now if you both do indeed look the same, both of your personalities are different somehow.
As I continued to grow, my knowledge of what a mother can do and will do for her child expanded. At one point, I can recall a time when I believed that multi-tasking couldn’t be done, but my mother proved me wrong. She was cooking, talking on the phone, ironing my school clothes, and helping me with homework while still answering any questions I had to ask of her. Mothers, I have one question for you: HOW IS IT POSSIBLE?! 🙂 As life progressed, I came across a multitude of different mothers; this includes teachers as well.
I cannot imagine everything that you have been through just to show us how much you love us, protect us, and sacrifice for us. What you have done was nothing but prepare us to grow to become smarter, sweet, and intelligent seeds of youth. It was because of you that we have learned to grow and learned how to love our own children. It is because of you that I am standing strong and I am staying strong and grateful for everything you have done for me. Whether you are now resting in peace in Heaven with our Lord or are here on Earth, a million times over… thank you… Thank You… THANK YOU for everything you have done for us. It is because of you that I am still here, standing here, and I am still smiling. Thank you… and Happy Mother’s Day.
This may have become a common scripture mentioned from the Bible, but it’s words and meanings are stronger than ever. In John 3:16-17 (NIV), it reads “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” It later goes on, in scripture of John 10:28-30 (NIV) that speaks of Jesus’ own Words that were “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”
Wow!! Praise His most precious and Holy Name. Our Heavenly Father, not only sent His Son (Jesus) to die for our sins, but to also help save us through his son. What man on earth, or statue, do you know can replicate what Jesus has done for us? Then it goes on by mentioning that we (our spirits) can never be snatched away from God’s Hands because “Jesus and the Father are ONE”. What does this mean? It means that we are loved and are continually being loved by the Lord that could’ve just… condemned us since the beginning of sin with Adam and Eve (Book of Genesis) and during the current times that we are living in right now. His love for all of us is so much deeper that I can’t explain all of them in the correct words I really want to emphasize and elaborate upon.
He knows that we may have done wrong, but He is, and has been, already forgiving us. All that we have to do is believe in Jesus and accept Him within our hearts. If we believe in Him, get ready to experience a whole spiritual life change.
Yes, I agree that no one is perfect, but just take a step back for a second and think of how much grace and how many blessings that He is constantly rewarding us to have. Just being able to wake up and see God’s light, despite whatever the weather conditions may be, is nothing but a blessing for us to help give each us that push out of bed so that we can take on the hours of our days ahead.
In my picture posted, that is a spirit hugging the Lord, and the meaning of it, in my opinion, is that Jesus welcomed him with opened arms. All it takes is a comforting hug to help ease your fears and relax you.
In Joshua 1:9 (NIV), it reads “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”‘
I quoted this passage, not only in addition to my recent post titled “Overcoming Fears and Phobias”, but to also assure you that you have more than just one person (or spirit) by your side to help, assist, and support you unconditionally. Imagine for a second that when you look at my posted image above that each sticky-note reminder were from your loved ones, your friends, and even from a loved one who may have passed away. Whenever you feel down, think of these notes and how many people, to this day, still believe in you. This message goes for myself as well. Too often, I might slip up and have a day where I just feel helpless and overcome with the feeling of pointless despair, despite how much I try to stay strong for others. I, too, have my days, but I always remember that many people want me to keep staying strong for them and never let my dreams go: My family, my friends, and the Lord as well.
Both physically and spiritually, you are strong and have strength that is untouched. If you have a child or children, imagine those sticky-note reminders being posted by them for you. I don’t know what it’s like to be a parent, but I do know that your strength increases and shows while raising your child and preparing them for the adulthood years to come. That makes you, whether you are a parent or not, just simply amazing. 🙂
When I look at the sticky-notes, it feels as if the Lord was the one that made those notes for me to always carry in my life and inspire me to keep moving forward. Never quit your plans and the walk in your life that you believe in. Just remember to always ‘Keep on Truckin’.
